Well, after taking the time to update my “blogger” blog over the last few days, I decided i might as well restart my little blog project back on Manky.
Recently I have been struggling to think of things that I can do with my webspace, and this always seems like a good idea.
The core behind the Manky blog will be to bring forward and comment on things that may be of interest to the kind of freaks we all love on spankthemanky.com
Hurrah, I finally got my copy of MCE 2005 up and running with my xbox 360 again. It turns out that the most recent Nvidia drivers are not fully compatible with MCE 2005 (even although they claim they are) and cause the extenders to hang when connecting.
Along with that I have been playing with MCE Buddy and Showanalyzer in an attempt to try and reduce the amount of space used by recording off the telly.
Its a good combination and Showanalyzer is definitely worth the $20 to get the majority of adverts removed.
The new MCE machine is running well so far as well. The addition of an extra gb of fast ram means that its been running for three days without “optimization” and without having any major brain farts.
On a related note I’m still fighting with Micro Direct to try and get my damn money back. They issued me with duplicate orders and then refused to give me my money back. having got them to agree its their fault (since i didn’t order the damn stuff) and agree i deserve a refund they then told me they had to receive the goods back before they could do that.
They have now had the goods for 4 days and still not refunded the cash.
According to their “customer service manager” it will take another 1-2 days. On top of this they tell me all they can do is apologise for the mess ups and stealing my cash.
Your apologies cant buy me food or pay my bills, so how about keep yer stinking apologies and GIVE MY MONEY BACK DAMMIT!
Wish i still lived in Manchester so I could go and yell at them.

Ok, so my promises of keeping an up to date blog were (as usual) a load of shit. What can I say? I start out with all the well meaning in the world and then just kinda forget.
Oh well, im a git but there we go.
So whats been happening in life lately? Well… I have just spent THREE DAYS trying to order stuff from Micro Direct.
Retards, thats all I can say about them.
They supposedly have new software that stops their brains from working and removes the ability to call people back when they say they will.
V and me are going to be moving back to Scotland soon. I cant wait to be honest, i really need to get back to “reality” and the hell away from bloody Minehead.
These days im pretty much a house hermit. My diabetes is still totally out of control and the insulin pump is doing nothing for me but giving me pain every time i snag the frigging tubing on something.
Amusing but painful 
These days i tend to spend a lot of my time staring at the walls and wondering when the gf will get home.
What a life eh?
At least i don’t have the opportunity to go out and eat crap food like i used to 
I have managed to loose half a stone now and am getting to grips with my new “diet”.
I know its unlikely that i will ever get back to the size i was when i was 21, but as long as i can get to a stage where i dont want to weep when i look in the mirror ill be happy with it.
Oh and before I go, a belated happy birthday to Neesie. I suck totally for not sending her card as promised but since she wanted me to send some DVDs to her and my pc is fragged i thought id hold off till its fixed

No, not my sex life, but the state of Minehead (The shitty little “seaside” town i live in at the moment) and most of the south west of the UK as well.
The weather is fucking terrible, im not so sure about global warming but there seems to be enough anecdotal evidence to provide a strong case to anyone who looks for that kind of thing.

This week, has seen me ranting and raving at my local NHS care people. For those who don’t know me (What the hell brought you here?) I have been waiting to have my insulin pump returned to me. So far I have been to the hospital twice to try and get the damn thing sorted out, and both times I have been turned away empty handed.
I don’t understand the point of telling someone to come 30 miles to get a bit of kit that their life depends on, then telling them “MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! FOOLED YOU NOOB!” I mean I love scrubs as much as the next guy, but for fucks sakes!
Hopefully that will be resolved this week though as all the “issues” which have prevented them from giving me the thing are supposedly dealt with… Well, we will see
As well as all that stuff, this week I have been playing “The Witcher”. Now, I had never heard of this game, but one of my mates asked me if I had played it and I responded with “Whachoo talkin bout Willis?”
So I went off and did my usual half arsed searching about before getting a hold of the game. Now, this may seem a bit cynical (mostly because it is) but why do game designers who don’t feel their game makes the grade, almost always decide to add the near obligatory “LOOK! TITTY SHOT!”?
Hey, I like tittys, but adding “sex” to a game and then trying to pass it off as role play? Good lord, I feel a disturbance in the force! Its like a billion geeks crying out at once… Mostly because they are the ones who this ploy is designed to appeal to. I don’t get it though, as ive seen more exciting stuff on google images with safe search turned on.
Perhaps there is more to the game than that, but I haven’t seen it yet.
Also this week, I am mostly feeling very very Scottish!
Well, its been a busy year here for me in “Sunny Minehead”. Almost everything that could have went wrong, did, and im looking forward to starting 2008 with a whimper more than a bang
(If it was a bang it would be something exploding)
So yeah, Christmas came and went and V (my long suffering girlfriend) and I spent Christmas with her mum and her boyfriend.
We went to Milton Keynes to do a little bit of shopping, and ended up in the local pub being told by the barman that “Absinthe was a bad idea, you should stick to Pernod”
Nothing worse than being told by your doctor that you can have a few drinks over Christmas then being told by the barman that he isn’t going to give you what you actually want!
Also, I signed up to a new phone with Three, so I will hopefully be able to Blog from my phone when I work the damn thing out
Ah well, New Year next, and at least since ill be at home, I can finally drink what I bloody well like!
